Metabolism Booster

Metabolism is the way your body converts food into energy and how it burns that energy. In simple terms, metabolism determines how quickly or slowly we burn calories or how quickly or slowly we gain and lose weight.

Maintaining a high metabolism is the key to losing weight fast. Women can have especially low metabolism. Why? They starve themselves. This slows down metabolism as the body dives into conservation mode, storing all fuel into fat for later consumption. Women also do not lift weights. Muscle burns fat, but most women are so afraid of getting bulky with weights. Instead belly fat starts to accumulate on the women's abdomen.

Men, on the other hand, do not "forget" to eat. They are not afraid of heavy weights. They intake more calcium than women. Men do not engage in sill weight loss practices. Men have more lean body mass or muscles on their body which equates to a higher calorie consumption than fat.

Age, gender, and how much muscle you have all determines your metabolism or the rate at which you use fuel for energy. There are several methods for boosting your metabolism. Some tips are so easy to incorporate that fat will fall off you, without even trying.

For instance, eat more frequent meals. Frequent sources of energy, keeps the body from converting food into fat. When the body knows that it will have food every three hours, it relaxes and uses that food for energy instead of storage. Keeping your blood sugar levels even with no spikes, has great benefits for belly fat.

Eating frequent meals is excellent for boosting metabolism. An even faster way to raise your metabolism is to exercise. Exercise is by far the best way to boost your metabolism. Cardiovascular exercise burns more calories during any exercise session. But weight training is the secret way to burn fat longer. Weight training or adding to your lean body mass, will help increase your metabolism or caloric expenditure. Every muscle in your body burns 35 calories per day, while fat only burns 2 calories per day.

High protein meals also require more energy. Protein requires 25% more energy than any other element. Spicy foods and foods with anti-oxidants have also been shown to increase metabolism, by having a calorie blasting effect.

Essentially to raise your metabolism to its fat fighting finest, you want to perform resistance training, eat protein laden meals every three hours, and add more spice and antioxidants in your life.
