Starving For Weight Loss
We've all tried to starve our way to a sexy body. Yes, we may have had initial success - dropping pounds be it muscle or fat, but soon the hunger takes over, the addiction over comes us and we begin to eat again.
All the muscle has gone from us starving. When we starve, the body looks for other means to feed itslef. Muscle isn't vital tissue, so the body takes the glycogen from the muscle as an energy source. Muscle essentially allows you to eat. Muscle burns more calories than fat.
However, when you don't have adequate muscles, everything you eat in excess will autmatically feed fat cells. This is why you gain even more weight after starving yourself. The best way to diet is to preserve the muscle. Any low calorie diet is at risk of losing lean tissue or muscle. This is why diet and exercise go hand in hand.
So when you go on a very low calorie diet, keep your muscle tone up. Lift weights. Do push ups and sit ups. That way your body will be forced to use the fat to create new muscle.
When you do begin to eat normally, do so slowly. Stick with salads, veggies, low calorie, low salt soups, and smoothies without ice cream, sugar or anything artificial. After a couple of days you can bring in the junk, but keep it at minimum.
Essentially, if you are going to starve for weight loss, make sure you work out or you will get fat. And when you do eat again, implement healthy, watery vegetables in your diet first before the potatoes, rice, and junk food come back.
